As if Game 5 of the NBA Finals weren’t enough to entertain sports fans in Austin this evening, the Longhorn baseball team defeated Arizona State University last night to force a Game 3 in Super Regional Action! The Horns will face off against the Sun Devils Sunday, June 12th at 6 pm to determine the best-of-three series winner. The winner of tonight’s game will advance to the College World Series in Omaha.

While Texas put up a convincing 5-1 win last night, the comfortable lead did not come until late in the game when the Horns scored on a 3-run home run by Jordan Etier. Both teams are stacked with talent this year, with Texas having six players selected in the MLB first-year draft this week and Arizona State will 11. The College World Series will kick off on June 17th with a celebration in Omaha and will run June 18-28th.
